Mobile Apps Enhance Your Customer’s Experience

Look around. Everywhere you turn people are on their smart phones. Whether it’s the airport, waiting room or office, people are zeroed in onto their phones. In fact, according to Pew Research Center (www.pewinternet.org), 91 percent of adults in the United States have a mobile phone and 52 percent of those phones are smart phones.

‘Cash For Clunkers’ Ineffective

A new analysis from the Brookings Institution, a private nonprofit organization devoted to independent research and innovative policy solutions (www.brookings.edu), found the Cash for Clunkers initiative was inefficient as an economic stimulus and only pulled forward auto sales that would have happened regardless of the Cash for Clunkers initiative.

The new catalog provides detailed information on over 260 air suspension replacement products including new product offerings for BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and more. The 36-page catalog features Arnott’s entire product line broken down by application and provides part numbers correlated by year and model.

Car-Part Pro Adds Enhancements

Car-Part.com has announced several enhancements to Car-Part Pro, its parts marketplace for professional repairers and insurers. Car-Part Pro and Car-Part Messaging combine to read and modify estimates using the CIECA EMS standard (including Mitchell, CCC, and Audatex estimates).

Parts Manufacturers Agree To Plead Guilty

Nine Japan-based companies and two executives have agreed to plead guilty and to pay a total of more than $740 million in criminal fines for their roles in separate conspiracies to fi x the prices of more than 30 different products sold to U.S. car manufacturers and installed in cars sold in the United States and elsewhere, the Department of Justice announced. The department said that price-fixed automobile parts were sold to Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, as well as to the U.S. subsidiaries of Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota and Fuji Heavy Industries - more commonly known by its brand name, Subaru.

Indiana Honors Pull-A-Part

Management (IDEM) has awarded the Pull-A-Part Indianapolis location the Indiana Clean Yard-Gold Level award for auto salvage businesses. Pull-A-Part (www.pullapart.com) is an award-winning family business serving the do it-yourself, used auto parts market. The Gold Level IDEM award is the highest certification level offered by IDEM, and achieving the Gold Level signifies that the recipient has gone beyond environmental regulations. Of 650 auto recycling operations in Indiana, only three achieved Gold status.

LKQ Kicks Off Its 2013 Winning Season Promotion

LKQ has started its Super Bowl promotion for the 2014 game. The 2013 LKQ Winning Season promotion has kicked-off and runs through December 20, 2013. This nationwide promotion is open to anyone who is a legal resident of the contiguous 48 states, District of Columbia and are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
