Auto Recyclers Donate $19,000 To Wounded Warrior Project

Fourteen auto recycling facilities gave back this past holiday season. Team Premium Recycled Parts North East (Team PRPNE) has donated $19,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project. This is the second year the group has donated. Joan Brown, co-owner of Brown’s Auto Salvage in Bomoseen, Va., and member of Team PRPNE, said the group’s board decided the donated would be a way to pay if forward.

Replica Car Manufacturers Praise New Law

It’s a new era for the kit car industry. President Obama signed into law legislation that will permit low volume car manufacturers to produce turn-key replica vehicles for customers nationwide. The SEMA-supported provision is part of a larger highway construction bill. Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) and Rep. Gene Green (D-TX) introduced the “Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015” in June, legislation that SEMA has pursued since 2011.

NHTSA Proposes High-Tech Safety Upgrades For New Vehicles

The U.S. Department of Transportation has proposed high-tech changes to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) 5-Star Safety Ratings for new vehicles. The planned changes will improve on the well-known safety ratings by adding an additional crash test, using new and more human-like crash test dummies, rating crash-avoidance advanced technologies and assessing pedestrian protection.

Car and Driver (www.caranddriver.com) has just released its list of the 10 best cars of 2016. The list includes vehicles under $80,000.
