When you call Nordstrom's Automotive, Inc. in Garretson, S.D. it's owner Shannon Nordstrom's voice you hear. If you tune into KJAM in Madison, S.D. or 19 other area radio stations, you'll hear Nordstrom and employee Russ Evans put on an industry radio show called "Under The Hood." If you visit Nordstrom's Automotive in October, you can see Nordstrom running the annual Fall Harvest Days at Ewe-Pullet, his self-service facility.
"When you drive through Garretson, S.D. it seems like every other building has the Nordstrom name over the door," explained Eric Schulz, aaa Auto Salvage, Rosemount, Minn. "Recyclers are fortunate to have a role model like Shannon who is always thinking forward and looking for the next opportunity to grow his business empire."
Nordstrom has maximized his business by producing a variety of products, including his newest addition, Nordstrom's Factory Performance, which sells EZ2RUN fuel-injected engine and transmission packages. He has an eBay store, manages the VRG (Vehicle Recycling Group) and created Clunkers For Christ in response to the hundreds of clunkers Nordstrom's Automotive processed.
Every summer you'll find Nordstrom donating a Resurrected Ride to charity, with 2009 being a record-breaking year for funds donated to Muscular Dystrophy Association. Nordstrom truly wears every hat possible to make the business a success.
