Rob Rainwater knows auto parts sales. Employed at the same business for 17 years, the last nine as the general manager, he has perfected his craft.
"He gets the job," said Larry Brown, vice president, Jerry Brown's Auto Parts Center, Ltd., Queensbury, N.Y. "And now, he coaches people about the job."
Rainwater frequently speaks at industry conventions and to insurance groups. In 2009, he presented seminars about brokering parts, closing the sale, impressing customers, and the 15 golden rules to being a used auto parts salesperson.
"When Rob first started he was a part time delivery person," said Brown. "We only had eight employees then. Now we have 40-plus. He's a major reason for our success."
