Michael Carcone is an auto recycler, an industry leader, a remanufacturer and a philanthropist. He knows it all works together to make his facility, Carcone's Auto Recycling & Wheel Refinishing (Carcone.com) in Aurora, Ontario, one of the best in the area.

Carcone's father, Tony Carcone, started it in 1978 with three people. Now it employs 49. In 1996, it added a wheel refinishing division.

David Gold, co-owner of Standard Auto Wreckers in Toronto, Ontario (StandardAutoWreckers.com), has worked with Carcone for years.

"When Michael first got involved in the wheel refinishing business I thought to myself, 'What a smart move on Michael's part to have the foresight and will to venture down this path,' and 'If any auto recycler can make this big undertaking a success, it would be Michael and his team.'"

Carcone is also active in the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA.com) and was chosen as one of the top Canadian auto recyclers of 2010 by Canadian Auto Recyclers Magazine (CanadianRecycler.ca).

"Michael is always at the center of discussions to promote the industry as he knows this will enhance his business," said Steve Fletcher, OARA executive director. "He is highly respected by his peers. If Michael is looking at or involved with something it is definitely worth their while to also participate."
