The highlight of summer for any car lover is, of course, car shows. While Memorial Day isn’t the official start of summer, it’s definitely when car shows and cruises come into full swing. Organizations from across the country are hosting shows.

Auto Recyclers To Star In Reality Show

Father and son team, Bobby and Andy Cohen, are staring in a new reality show called Junkyard Empire. Andy owns Andy’s Auto Parts in Bladensburg, Md., which Bobby manages. Andy also owns a custom car shop. The show will play off of “Bobby’s easy going, old school ways which conflict with Andy’s hard charging style.” Junkyard Empire premiered on April 22 on Velocity.

Recyclers Help Halt Tennessee Bill

Tennessee auto recyclers helped halt a proposed bill that would have allowed unlicensed buyers to purchase salvage vehicles in the state. Recyclers from Tennessee Auto Salvage, Inc., in Greenbrier, Express Auto Recyclers, LLC in La Vergne, Raceway Auto & Truck Parts, LLC in Savannah, and Knox Auto Parts in Knoxville, along with representatives from LKQ and ARA, helped get Tennessee House Bill 443 deferred until 2016.

No More Home Car Repairs?

Repairing your vehicle at home could be illegal in the future, and it’s all due to copyright infringement. While some groups are opposed to this, automaker supporters claim it is more to do with safety than proprietary infringements.
