Condolences To The Reitman Family

Our condolences to Fran Reitman and her family. Randy Reitman died on March 28, 2015. He was 59. Randy had fought cancer for several years prior to this death. He was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in May 2010.

Randy ran Reitman Auto Parts & Sales right out of high school in 1973 and became the owner in 1976. His wife Fran came on board in 1983. They have three children, Courtney Reitman-Deinlein, Nick Reitman and Adam Reitman. Both Nick and Adam work at the business.

The Reitman Auto Parts & Sales team is used to being figureheads in the auto recycling industry for more than a decade. Locator UpFront named Fran its most influential woman (2006) and fundraiser (2010); it named their son, Nick Reitman, most influential up and coming (2011); and named Randy as its most influential one-to-watch (2009), and most influential duo (with Fran, 2005) and is an ARA past president.

Recycled Parts Buying Trends

The Locator's commitment to buyers and sellers of recycled parts has been the driving force for the company for more than 50 years. For the past several months, the data has shows a clear trend for purchasing smaller, easy-to-install parts. Headlights, tail lamps and side view mirrors have been popular among buyers.
