The online parts search at PartsLocator.com just got an upgrade. Now, the search features a simple and straightforward design plus e-commerce capabilities. The Locator’s new parts search is powered by PartCycle.com; that means it has access to the nearly two million parts PartCycle.com has in its inventory. All of the parts come with a standard 180-day warranty, shipping is fast and there is a no-hassle return policy.
Plus, all of the sellers on PartsLocator.com’s Parts Search are trusted auto recycling facilities. Many are members of the industry’s top professional organizations like the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA), United Recyclers Group (URG) and Team PRP (Premium Recycled Parts) and have earned distinctions for best practices, like ARA’s Gold Seal.

B&R Auto Wrecking, www.autowrecking.com, has acquired Oroville Self-Serve located about 50 miles north of Sacramento, Calif. This acquisition is the first in the state of California for B&R Auto Wrecking said Senior Business Advisor Brian Perlenfein.
Oroville Self-Serve is B&R's 16th facility. B&R Auto Wrecking also has three locations in Nevada, 9 in Oregon and three in Washington state. The family-owned and operated company started in 1980. The yard will begin to add late model salvage to serve the collision repair shops, purchased mainly from insurance auctions in the area.
"We are extremely excited for our collision repair shop and insurance partners," Perlenfein said. "The inventory we will have, and that our logistics system can bring in from our other locations, will help them continue to be successful and create better cycle times."
Among other things at its newest location, B&R Auto Wrecking plans to update the inventory, increase the shipping and receiving department to include parts washers and inspection areas, and add a fleet of delivery trucks to service mechanic and collision repair shops.
PartCycle Technologies has announced “Inventory A.I.”, an industry-first innovation developed to clearly communicate part descriptions and provide accurate quality ratings on used auto parts sold through the PartCycle Marketplace at www.PartCycle.com.
PartCycle noted that most used parts sourcing solutions available today only display raw notes made when an automotive recycler enters a part into their inventory management system using industry codes, subjective ratings and shorthand. These raw notes are typically impossible to read for those who are untrained or unfamiliar with automotive recycling.
“The raw notes may include important, and otherwise unavailable, details such as paint color, quality or may indicate the existence, location and extent of any damage on the part. Without this information it can be a challenge for a buyer to know what they are purchasing without calling the seller directly,” stated PartCycle.
When browsing inventory on PartCycle.com, all of the information a prospective buyer needs to know about condition and quality will be displayed right next to the inventory in an easy to read format, eliminating the need for a phone call.
Inventory A.I. uses a two-step process to create and display more information about the inventory.
- Translate sellers’ raw inventory data into simple to understand part descriptions. PartCycle uses a sophisticated translation engine to automatically recognize and convert the shorthand, industry codes and other raw data in sellers’ inventory notes, into easily-understood, actionable, information for the buyer.
- Assign a commonly understood condition rating or classification. After translating inventory data, the Inventory A.I. system then evaluates each parts’ final description, mileage and any identified damage to assign a clear, easy to understand, Amazon.com-style, condition rating to each part. On PartCycle.com these part ratings include “Like New,” “Very Good,” “Good” or “Fair.”
Inventory A.I. also prevents the listing of parts which may fall short of the expectations a modern buyer has when shopping online, the company stated. “With Inventory A.I., PartCycle provides a better overall shopping experience and reduces the amount of issues and returns from incorrectly-purchased parts,” said PartCycle.
Inventory A.I. is currently only available on PartCycle.com but may become available as a licensed technology in the future. Interested parties should contact email@example.com for more information.
August is fast approaching. That means back to school for most students, but it is also the deadline for the annual Locator’s Directory. The deadline to buy a $150 listing is August 11 and the display deadline is August 18.
The Locator’s Directory contains listings for nearly 500 automotive recycling facilities across the United States and Canada. It is mailed to body and mechanical repair shops, insurance companies and auto recycling facilities. It is also available online for a small annual fee.
All companies that purchase a listing receive a free company page on PartsLocator.com’s Industry Directory, a one-of-a-kind directory that lists auto recycling facilities by state.
Contact sales before time runs out on the 2018 Locator’s Directory. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 800-831-0820.
